Burkino — 2019-02-04 08:27:31It would be nice to see what a message said before it was edited/deleted. Many people can say something inappropriate but then immediately delete it whenever they see a moderator start talking in chat.
cancel — 2019-02-04 10:21:47If you have moderator-like permissions (owner, administrator, "manage messages", "manage roles", etc.) on a Discord instance, you can right-click on a deleted message and do View Details, and see what the contents of the message were before it was deleted. This doesn't work for edits, but because a user can edit a message as many times as they want, storing all edits for all messages in the local cache in Ripcord could end up using a ton of space. It would also require some kind of tricky UI to pick which version of a message to view. For most cases, being able to see a deleted message is good enough. If you would like Ripcord to have some sort of thing for storing message edits locally for moderators, please reply again and I'll reopen the ticket.
RipcordUser — 2022-09-29 08:18:34 I know this was closed a while ago but with recent developments/changes with the betterdiscord project, I believe having another look at this request is warranted. Please do reconsider this proposal for this feature request. Same goes for the deleted message viewer. I love the messageloggerv2 (for better discord) implementation; showing a stagger view in the chat itself with edits and red text to signify deleted messages. |
