bowlercaptain — 2019-04-11 20:38:25Discord has added spoiler hiding in the form of double-pipes; text surrounded by two of the '|' character ||like this|| appears as black-bars until clicked. Support of this feature would be very useful to me; the puzzle-games server I'm a part of uses spoiler tags extensively. Thanks!
cancel — 2019-04-12 00:23:28This feature is semi-broken in Discord -- their parser will fail in spectacular and unpredictable ways, because there's no real definition of how the precedence of this stuff should be parsed. I don't plan on implementing it unless they come up with a way that makes sense.
Fidgetcetera — 2019-11-29 22:56:05 Is this still the case? I've yet to have any parser breakage in Discord and the lack of spoiler tags is absolutely keeping me from using Ripcord, because everyone who uses Discord without Ripcord just expects spoiler tags to work for everyone else, and posts with that expectation. It's both an issue from the main "spoiler" usage of the feature, but also for trigger/content warnings for issues like descriptions of violence. |
