There seems to be an issue with direct messages received from Slacks users you have previously not interacted with. I have noticed this in two different ways:

• In a new direct conversation with two other people, I got something in the notification tab, but I think I couldn't see the conversation in the list of direct messages, so it was only possible to open it from the direct messages tab.
• In another instance, I didn't get any notification at all. The user that sent me the DM was not visible in the sidebar, and I received no notification either.

I haven't been able to reproduce this.

I have had this happen before as well. Unfortunately I don't have steps to reproduce but I think in my case it has only happened with group chats.

It doesn't happen 100% of the time though. I will try to pay more attention if it happens to me again.
