When using the "Open Channel" button in the "Search Messages" dialog, and also when returning from threads by using the "Return to Channel" option, it would be desirable if Ripcord would scroll to the spot in the channel history where this message appears. This would be useful because I almost exclusively use these options because I am interested in the context of the message I searched for, or the message that spawned a thread.

Yup, it's very important. I'm working on it. (It's a bit tricky, because it has to be robust against certain conditions like re-fetching, network loss/reacquisition, quit/restart, cache reloading...)
