One of the biggest differences between Discord and Slack is that there's a big void between how people communicate. In Slack at my company, I basically need to be able to reach any valid employee at any time. I rarely have a DM with every single person in the company, though. Similarly, there are channels that I know exist, but I don't like to be in because they're too noisy or distracting, so I stay out of them.

In these scenarios, it becomes super helpful to be able to use the quick switch/go to/jump feature to jump into conversations that don't yet exist. At a minimum, jumping into a new DM with a user is the most critical, because there are too many people at my company to have open DMs with all. Channels are less important (I can join them and ignore them by only looking at favorites).

I can't tell if this is a bug or a feature request. Since Slack does this, I think it's a bug, but it might be a design choice because of the differences between Discord + Slack.

To clarify on that void: in Discord it's probably not normal to need to DM every member of a guild, but in Slack it's totally normal to need to DM everybody.

Yeah. I will be adding a way to open new DMs via ctrl+k soon.
