I seem to be missing entire ranges of messages from channels (and the notifications that go along with them).

I just noticed it this morning after I went to sleep for the night. All the messages after I had gone to sleep until about 1:29pm (which is 4 hours before I woke up) are missing from the view when I scroll up. My account was not disconnected when I woke up this morning. The channels load fine if I disconnect my account and reconnect my account and scroll up to that point in the history.

You can see the gap in image form here https://imgur.com/a/voEoLX2

Upon further inspection, it seems like it's missing from more than when I just went to sleep, there's a lot of holes in the conversation in general, but they seem to mostly include multiple messages by date.

Hmm. Weird. Do you know if you had viewed the pinned messages in those channels in Ripcord? There's a long-standing, very dumb, flaw in Ripcord's Discord implementation with history fetching and pinned messages that I haven't gotten around to fixing yet.

I have not used the pinned messages feature in the Ripcord client.

I also have Discord open side by side with Ripcord, not sure if that'd cause issues, though I mostly use it when there's a feature I don't have in Ripcord.

OK, that's weird, and shouldn't happen. Has this happened to you multiple times?

cobertos2020-08-16 03:43:38

I think so, yeah. The server I'm in has a "starboard" where when things get stared a bot will keep track of it in another channel. I've noticed a few times now that the stared posts don't exist, but this was the first time I figured out that it was because they just weren't showing up in Ripcord.

I can probably reproduce it at some point in the future, but I don't know what sort of info would be helpful for debugging in your application.

I think the history isn't being cleared out properly for some reason. Hmm.

Actually, I have no idea what's going on. Has this happened again since?

cobertos2020-08-18 08:53:41

I have not noticed it again yet, no.

Still haven't noticed it. Can probably close

OK. Still kinda worried about it. If it happens again, feel free to reopen or email me.
