I know you're against adding support for animated GIFs, but it would be really helpful if Ripcord could at least indicate when a GIF contains additional frames, in order to hint the user to click on the image.

We use Slack at work and are constantly uploading animated GIFs of UI interactions and this would really, really help.

And if possible, I'd beg you to reconsider the possibility of showing animated GIFs, maybe as an optional feature that is disabled by default. There are a bunch of libraries that could be of help, ie. https://github.com/lecram/gifdec.

Thanks!

Usually it does... are you on Mac?

Nope, Linux. No difference between (animated) GIFs vs other formats.
