Right now you can have multiple accounts saved but you have to manually disconnect from the current one and connect to the other to switch accounts. Ideally you should be able to use both at the same time (most likely in separate windows per account), instead of having to sign out of one to use the other.

This already works for Slack, but not Discord. The reason is that I'm not sure what Discord's policy is on multiple simultaneous accounts for a user, and they're unlikely to come out and tell me (or anyone) -- therefore I just play it safe and only allow one at a time, because I don't want to get anyone banned from Discord.

If this situation changes in the future, I'll revisit it and look into implementing it.

i once asked (a very long time ago) whether they would add this functionality to the discord client and was told that i can have more than one account open by having one logged into the live build and another logged into the PTB build, and have done this since.

I need this. I need this so very, very badly. At the very least, please allow multiple instances so that I can have more than one Ripcord window! At present, Ripcord is less useful than the original client to me because at least on the original client I can run Normal, PTB, and Canary simultaneously (for over a year with no issues). On Ripcord I run into "force start" and "lock file" issues even if I make a second Ripcord folder. :(

I second what creampai said. They don't care. I have been actively using and maintaining 4 accounts for over a year and never had any problems. I am open to Discord about it as well -- have conversed with Staff concerning multiple account support being a dream feature as well as issues that I've had specifically with the PTB build. I admitted to their legal team that I operate multiple accounts when I emailed them to declare that I formally opt out of third party arbitration. Nothing bad has happened to me, or anyone else I know who does this.

Simply using Ripcord in and of itself is a far greater danger. Ripcord does not shower its users with targeted ads for partner companies, prompt its users to buy games, or subscribe to Nitro. If Ripcord also doesn't benefit at all from the account having Nitro, that could be seen as freeloading off of them. If you are concerned, stick a huge disclaimer "use of Ripcord is at your own risk." --- "I understand, OK" at the first startup of Ripcord.

Are you on Windows? You can sort of do this. Create a directory named portable_data next to Ripcord.exe -- when you run Ripcord, it will put all of its data and caches and stuff into that directory instead of in the normal location (AppData). Once you've done that, you can then just create multiple copies of Ripcord by copying and pasting the outer directory multiple times. You should be able to run all of those copies of Ripcord without them conflicting, and use a different Discord account on each.

I don't really think it's a good idea to do this with too many accounts. You may trigger a recaptcha challenge or something on Discord, and you won't be able to do that from within Ripcord. I don't really recommend it.

The company and its representatives have publicly stated before that users are allowed to have multiple accounts as long as they're not otherwise doing bad stuff with them:

Twitter and reddit comments are not a reliable source of information. If you connect to Discord with too many accounts from the same machine, you will be locked out until you fulfill ReCaptchas. And since Ripcord can't do ReCaptcha (since it's not a full web browser), you're screwed until you start up a web browser.

I'd like to ask you to reconsider. If you're convinced it's a bad idea, perhaps you could make it an off-by-default setting in preferences with an appropriate warning. But personally I'm confident I can get away with logging into two accounts and once, I've done it in other (inferior) applications with no problem.

This would be a very valuable feature for me, and I expect other users as well. And for what it's worth, I'll totally buy a copy if this happens. :D
